The Baker Free Library offers weekly, monthly, and seasonal programs for children of all ages and their families. For those events requiring registration, please visit our online calendar and complete the virtual sign-up. Some of our most popular events, including storytimes, require registration with a valid card from the Baker Free Library.

Fall Storytimes Begin September 11!
Registration for fall storytimes opens on Tuesday, September 4th, with sessions running from September 11 to November 16. This fall, we are offering three storytimes with content designed for all age groups, including our youngest patrons! Please register on our online calendar using a valid Baker Free Library card. You do not need to register every week; your registration will carry forward after the first time. Please note: Two sessions of preschool storytime will be offered to accomodate demand, on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Please register for either one, but not both.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten!
Ready Your Child for a Lifetime of Reading
Research suggests that children need to hear about 1,000 books before they begin to read independently. Reading to children increases their vocabulary and improves comprehension, listening and narrative skills, as well as building traits like self-awareness, confidence, and empathy. Prepare your child for a lifetime of reading by sharing books together! Sign your child up for 1000 Books Before Kindergarten at the Baker Free Library, and earn prizes for every 100 books you share together. This program is ongoing; register anytime.
